Alan M. Harawitz, M.D. graduated from New York Medical College in 1972 after completing his Bachelor of Science from City College of New York in 1967. Dr. Harawitz was an intern and resident at Metropolitan Hospital Center in NY and from 1974-1975 served as the Chief Resident in Pediatrics. He joined Monroe Pediatrics in 1975 and has served as the Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Arden Hill Hospital for four years. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Interested in educating the next generation of pediatricians, Dr. Harawitz is a clinical instructor of pediatrics at New York Medical College (Valhalla, NY) and is also a preceptor for students from Pace University and the New Vision program at BOCES.
Dr. Harawitz lives in Monroe with his wife, Zena, and is proud to be practicing with his son, Dr. Evan Harawitz. Dr. Harawitz's eldest son, Mathew, lives in LA with his wife and son, Nate. Mathew is currently a comedy writer and has worked on such shows as “Whitney” and “Better With You”.
He is the proud grandfather of three cute little boys, Tyler, Nate and Luke. Dr. Harawitz’s past times include playing golf and watching athletic events.
Dr. Harawitz’s interest is in newborn care and in caring for multi-generational families.
